I am a bilingual journalist with nearly 20 years of experience in Chile and the United States. I began my professional career in January 2005 as a TV news reporter with TVN in Valparaíso, Chile. My first assignment was to cover an international story about Augusto Pinochet, a former Chilean dictator, and his home detention following his extradition from London.
I forged my journalism career on a foundation of social justice based on ethics and accuracy. After ten years of working as a TV news reporter, video producer, teacher, and communications specialist, I emigrated to the United States in April 2015 to pursue graduate studies, which I could complete in May 2019 from California State University of Northridge.
For the last five years, I have worked as a Digital Content Producer covering the Central Valley in California for Spanish media outlets. I have produced original content in Spanish that addresses the challenges faced by underserved and underrepresented communities. Also, I have witnessed the rapid transformation in producing “multiplatform stories” alongside the fusion of broadcast news and the digital world.
