The first years

Local News

During my first years of professional practice, I covered breaking news from and around my hometown in Valparaíso, Chile. This included the home detention of former dictator Augusto Pinochet in Bucalemu, on January 2005; the Valparaíso-Serrano street explosion on February 3, 2007, and the fatal flight accident that claimed 21 lives, including the well-known TV anchor Felipe Camiroaga, in September, 2011. I was part of the news teams at TVN Red Valparaíso, UCV TV, and CNN Chile, where my reporting ranged from crime, politics, technology, and science stories to enterprise pieces.

Investigative journalism

By 2011, I was part of the Investigative Journalism team at Mega Chile, in charge of producing the TV news show Sin Retorno, which aimed to highlight the stories of Chilean inmates detained abroad. I was able to showcase and enjoy using my research skills to find the cases and connect with their families in Chile, ultimately bringing the stories to air.

Cultural production

I became the Executive Producer of a TV cultural production called “Cronistas, Ciudad en Letras. ” The documentary series tells the story of a Literature student who explores Valparaíso through the texts of chroniclers and writers from different eras and backgrounds.
